Repair Salve, Perfume Free, consists of shea butter, cocoa butter, olive oil, thistle oil, beeswax – and nothing else. It is pure nature, and they are all ingredients that have been use for thousands of years in the treatment of wounds, scratches, irritation, diaper rash in infants, in the treatment of psoriasis, to alleviate eczema – and much more.
Lanolin is the fatty substance that most resembles the skin’s own fatty substance – and it is therefore swiftly absorbed by the skin. Lanolin originates from the protective layer of sheep’s wool and is thus an inexhaustible natural material, as long as we remember to shear the sheep. Lanolin, which penetrates the outer layer of the skin into the subcutis, functions as a moisture reserve for the skin.
Shea butter is extracted from shea nuts which grow on the Karité trees in a belt stretching from Senegal to Sudan. Shea butter for instance contains vitamin E, carotin and allantoin, and it has a healing, protecting, softening, and sun-protecting effect, just as it reduces excessive dryness of the skin.
The only difference between Repair Salve, Perfume Free and my original Repair Salve is the absence of the oils from grapefruit and bergamot. These oils are ingredients in my original Repair Salve owing to their healing effect, but – since not everyone tolerates ethereal oils – I have now included a version without such oils. But, believe me, the salve will be sure to help you anyway.
Repair Salve, Perfume Free can be used all over the body as well as in the face – and by the entire family. Use for any kind of irritation, wounds, eczema, dry/chaffed skin, dry lips, frayed cuticles, suckling irritation, diaper rash in infants, etc. – and as a protective layer against the elements.
In case of extremely dry hands and feet, I would recommend that you apply a thin layer of Repair Salve, Perfume Free, cover the area by a pair of thin cotton gloves/socks, and then let the salve work overnight.
When using Repair Salve, Perfume Free as a night mask, I would recommend that you use it after cleansing (and perhaps also A- retinoid). Take a good dollop between your hands, warm it up and then apply to the entire face. If it is the first time you use the product, you will probably think that you shine like a glazed Christmas ham – which you do! But you will wake up in the morning with the softest skin imaginable!
Up until the autumn of 2019, I was myself in charge of the production of my Repair. Carefully, I would warm up all ingredients, put them into jars, and let them cool off before I would label the jars. Today, I get assistance from a larger factory that is capable of managing the increasingly larger demand for Repair.
