Product information

Calm is crammed with Nordic berries, algae, herbs and SPF 30 – get much wiser on this here!

Revling is the superfood of the North. It is a protective antioxidant with a soothing effect on irritated, delicate, and sensitive skin. Revling fights the inflammation which makes the skin swell up and redden and, at times, burn. When your skin becomes calmer, it will look more even and uniform. Also being astringent, Revling makes sure that the skin will not dry out during periods of irritation.

Revling has amazing qualities for protecting the skin against external irritation and degeneration (oxidative stress), and this is precisely what a delicate and irritated skin will need. If you spend much time out in the open or stay in a place with poor indoor climate, the Revling extract will protect your skin against degeneration.

Brown algae
Natural extract of algae with antioxidants that boost the skin and fight inflammation.

Deep-sea Mineral
Deep-see chimneys spew out seawater after this has been whirled around the scalding interior of the earth. The seawater carries large amounts of mineral elements from the interior of the planet. They are called deep-sea minerals and they fight inflammation, moisturises and improves the condition and colour of the skin.

The extract of deep-sea minerals is known for its ability to soothe any kind of skin disease by strengthening the skin’s tissues. And in all probability it is best known for its capacity to maintain the chemical balance of the skin.

The minerals boost the skin’s blood circulation and help the skin to remove toxins and to reinforce the cell membrane against drying out and daily damage (oxidative stress).

The deep-sea minerals’ considerable magnesium content protects the skin against exterior damage because it regulates cellular regeneration and repair, which increases restoration in case of skin disturbances and reinforces skin that is subject to attack. The multitude of minerals contribute to the improvement of the skin’s condition and colour.

Greenish mineral pigment which evens redness and provides a uniform glow. In Calm, I have mixed ordinary green colour with a transparent green colour – thus two different types of makeup ingredients. SpectraFlex is a pigment that consists of plates of transparent aluminium oxide covered with a thin layer of titanium dioxide. It is thus transparent but will absorb every other colour with the exception of green, which will be sent back. It is a bit similar to looking at a soap bubble or a shell – both contain all colours of which we only use the green. From the science of colours, we know that red light will be balanced out by green light. Thus, redness of skin will gradually fade, providing you with a more even and natural skin colour – in particular when I make a mixture of ordinary green pigment and green alga.

Colour pigments and SpectraFlex are both completely natural, and their combinatory effect not only leaves a natural soft skin tone, it also reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by ensuring that light diffusion will spread out evenly on the skin surface.

Thoroughly work Calm into your skin, and you will discover the disappearance of the green colour and the emergence of the natural glow.

Vitamin B3
Has a calming effect on the skin and counteracts redness. Nicotinamide is a special water-soluble Vitamin B3, namely an amide (also called niacinamide). We find the largest content in the oldest rye variants such as for instance slash-and-burn rye which has been grown in the Nordic region since year 0.

Vitamin B3 is tolerated by all skin types, and it will alleviate irritated and eczema-ridden skin, improving the skin’s capacity for accepting other remedial ingredients. This is why it is beneficial to all skin types and in the fight against atopic skin, eczema, rosacea, or perioral dermatitis.

Nicotinamide helps to repair damaged DNA and to reduce the immunosuppressive effects of sun-induced UV rays – the so-called oxidative stress factors. In other words, B3 helps against the degeneration of your skin and against premature signs of ageing such as discolouration and wrinkles. Research has not arrived at a full understanding of how this type of vitamin B facilitates the contraction of pores, but it does.

SPF 30
Protection against the degeneration of cells is no trivial matter, as the worst damage is owing to the rays of the sun. This is why it was a matter of course to mix SPF30 into your new Face Cream, in order that you no longer need to worry about the protection of your skin.

I chose a combination on the basis of the following parameters:

  • They are all free from hormone disrupting substances, and they are all approved and supported by the Nordic Swan Ecolabel, Asthma Allergy Nordic and AllergyCertified.
  • I opted out of using physical sunscreens because, at SPF30 level, they would cause the formation of a white film on your skin. Besides, the physical nano-screens are not Ecocert COSMOS approved.
  • I chose the gentlest ingredients with respect to protection, health, your skin, and our environment.

Chemical sunscreens contain substances that penetrate into the upper skin layer. When the UV rays hit the skin, the screen will absorb the UV rays, thus preventing radiation from reaching the lower skin layers where it will give rise to damage. Being invisible on the skin, the chemical sunscreens act as invisible protection.

The Chlorella Vulgaris algae
Your skin will love these magnificent natural green micro algae. I cultivate them under safe conditions, thus providing you with maximum benefits from these green natural beauties.

The Chlorella Vulgaris alga has forceful anti-irritation benefits – primarily owing to the fact that it is a rich source of carotenoids: A family of nutrients which, when absorbed by the skin, provides protection against UV radiation and pollution (oxidative stress). I.e. the alga is beneficial against eczema, rosacea, sunburn, pigmentation, irritation and the similar.

Extract of Chlorella Vulgaris is packed with essential building blocks for new skin and new collagen. Its considerable amino-acid component provides the capacity for restructuring and smoothing the skin surface – in particular scarred, irritated, inflamed, or ageing skin.

In addition, other studies have shown that it can increase the firmness of the skin as well as reduce stretch marks.

With the spatula, you take an amount of cream equal to the size of a hazelnut /teaspoonful and apply to face and neck. Remember to apply a high SPF throughout the day during prolonged stays in the sun.
